The cockpit has two levers on the right hand side, 8 buttons next to a monitor and a radar, and a keyboard. The keyboard can be used for controlling the ship with the right keys as well as sending distress signals. The keyboard has a thin monitor above it with a bar to enter a code in. It says "Enter Spacecraft ID" in an alien language.

I disregard the controls, and look for items around the cockpit, also trying to find the ship's engine.

I disregard the controls, and look for items around the cockpit, also trying to find the ship's engine. The ship has a lower level for maintenance which is probably where the engine is located, the hatch down to the lower level is located in the janitor's closet. |

I go to the janitor's closet and try to open the hatch, yelling at terry on the way down. "Terry, find us an asteroid to land on and make sure the path isn't patrolled by Cruorians. I'm going to try and scavenge materials."

You open the hatch, and there is a thin metal staircase leading down to a dark room only lit by a small flame which appears to be from a mug with wax and a wick in it as a makeshift candle. There's a large engine with a small opening to put fuel in. As well as some miscellaneous pipes on the walls, you can't really make out what most of them are for. There's an meter on the wall that detects how much oxygen is left next to the staircase. One third of the oxygen left is gone.

I put the sleeping bag somewhere without anything flammable and light it on fire to see further.
